There’s more to love about Staten Island now with the ever expanding stores and restaurants. The Outlet mall isn’t the only retail addition to the North Shore being built, the Staten Island Mall is getting much needed TLC. Built in 1973, the mall hasn’t changed much besides the opening and closing of some classics such as Walden Book, Dress Barn, and the center water fountain.
Today, the Staten Island Mall is expanding a 242,000 square foot on the Richmond Avenue Side. There will be a new food district featuring a Chick fil A, Shake Shack, Sarku Japan, Villa Italian, and much more. For the movie lovers out there, the General Growth Properties, owners of the New Springville Mall announced in March that they will be bringing in an AMC Movie theater to the new wing. It will be a 45,000 square foot theater, with a total of 1,000 recliners!
