Traveling for the holidays? You aren’t alone! The U.S Holiday Travel Bureau account for a 54% increase during the 6-day Thanksgiving travel period. Surprisingly during the Christmas and New Year period will increase by 23%, compared to the average number for the remainder of the year (goo.gl/3WUJyz). For travelers, as a tip, most tend to travel on Thursday and more return on Saturday. To avoid gridlocks and delays try traveling on other days than Thursday and Saturday.
If you are traveling by plane, we recommend arriving 2 hours before departure to have adequate time.
Thanks to the AAA, they were able to supply tips for travelers:
- Arrive early: Rushing only leads to more frustration and increases your chance of leaving something behind.
- Dress for security screenings: Passengers without TSA Pre-check will be asked to remove shoes, light jackets, and headwear and to empty their pockets during screening. Laptops and liquids will need to be placed in a separate bin for screening.
- Travel Documents: Keep your passports, copies of confirmations, tickets for the trip and a copy of your travel insurance policy with you
- Entertainment and Snacks: Books, games, snacks, and gum can go a long way to make a long trip enjoyable.
Martino Realty wishes you and your family a safe and enjoyable holiday!
