It’s no secret that each generation is different from the one before, but when speaking about Millennial’s there is a major difference. According to Pew Research Center analysis in 2016, 48% of women from the ages of 20-35 were moms, when women from Generation X born between 1965 and 1980 were the same age, 57% were already moms.

Millennial women seem to be waiting longer to become parents as the generations prior. Why is this? A factor that may have played in this decision is The Great Recession that occurred as Millennials graduated, causing a lifetime of student loan debt. This caused a financial burden keeping women in the workforce because of this.
It seems that the $69 billion pet industry has grown three times larger in size since 1996. The freedom and flexibility of having a pet may be one of the reasons why millennials are so drawn to them. Big box brands like Amazon, Bissel, Google, and Ticketmaster are even allowing their employees to bring their pets to work.According to Media Post, 35% of pets are owned by Millennials .Recognizing this we are seeing developers build communities with bigger dog parks then play grounds and in the past having a pet was a deterrent for most landlords.
Whichever lifestyle you choose it communities and homes are adapting to accommodate your choice!
